The UBC Sauder School of Business is pleased to offer a number of financial aid, support and assistance options available to both Canadian citizens, permanent resident and international UBC MBA applicants. We encourage you to thoroughly research all options available to you.
UBC Sauder scholarships and awards
To qualify for the following scholarships, you will need to meet the merit requirements and apply by the UBC MBA application deadlines outlined below. All applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships upon application submission, so we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.
Note: Normally, these scholarships are paid out using the following payment schedule:
- Under $1,000 – paid out entirely in one term
- $1,000 – $5,999 – paid out in two terms (equal instalments)
- $6,000 or greater – paid out over the three terms of the year (33.3% in September, 33.3% January, and 33.4% in May)
Early Entrance Award
Available to all international applicants who apply by the stipulated deadline with all required supporting documents*. Available to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents who apply by the January 9 deadline with all required supporting documents*.(*Admitted applicants who submit complete application form with at least two references, unofficial transcripts, degree certificates, and test scores by the specified deadlines will be automatically considered for the Early Entrance Scholarship).
Value: $1,500
Hari Varshney MBA Entrance Scholarship
Dedicated for one international applicant who demonstrates exceptional aptitude and academic excellence, with preference to international applicants.
Value: Up to 50% of tuition fees
Indigenous Community Leadership MBA Scholarship Award
Awarded to Indigenous applicants who demonstrate outstanding academics and leadership potential in their communities. One domestic full-tuition scholarship available.
Value: $10,000 – Full tuition
Madhu Varshney MBA Entrance Scholarship
Dedicated for one international applicant who demonstrates exceptional aptitude and academic excellence, with preference to international applicants.
Value: Up to 50% of tuition fees
Dean’s Entrance Scholarship
This prestigious, merit-based award is open to Canadian citizens, permanent resident and international applicants who embody a strong alignment with UBC Sauder values of rigour, respect and responsibility. Applicants must have an exceptional track record of academic excellence, community involvement and business leadership skills.
Value:
- $20,000 – $60,000 for international applicants
- $20,000 – Full Tuition* for Canadian citizens and permanent resident applicants
